Why “Golden Bear”?
The name Golden Bear Partners is rooted in both symbolism and personal history.
The Golden Bear represents strength, wisdom, and protection — qualities we strive to embody in every partnership. Just as the golden bear leads with quiet confidence and protects what matters most, we aim to be trusted guides and steady hands for the founders and leadership teams we partner with. Our approach is grounded in experience, integrity, and long-term thinking, always putting people first.
On a more personal note, the name is also a nod to my roots as an Upper Arlington Golden Bear. As a native of Upper Arlington, OH and an avid golfer, I had the honor of captaining the same high school golf team as Jack Nicklaus, the original “Golden Bear.” While I didn’t quite match his scoring record, the example he set of excellence, hard work and discipline continues to inspire how I lead today.
